An apparition, a visual delusion,
A deception between optical nerve and the brain
A mirage shimmering in desert heat
Myriads of colour in droplets of rain
Never sure of reality - trompe l’oeil
From a thundering blow to a gentle caress
A simple holding of hands can bring such solace
More forceful comes the hand of reprimand
Soothing pain with delicacy to a tender place
One hand, many extremes- variations of touch
Tonal resonations, all different wavelengths
Crashing and banging, sonic boom, it is all noise
Harmonious voices, tenor, bass, soprano
Perfect pitch, relaxing rhythm, a listening joy
Reverberating in the eardrum - producing sound.
Sour lemons; give an acidic tang to the tongue
Sweet candy we all love, but bad for the teeth
Herbs and spices to add a nuance of piquancy
A plate of artistic beauty, still full of flavour
A chef’s greatest tool - a sense of taste
The heady aroma of her perfume
The essence of summer in a floral bouquet
Incense burning to give an ambiance
Hiding the stench of modern living’s way
Pungent and fragrant - sensitive nose smell
