‘In my cupboard are many toys,
Ships and sailors and soldier boys
A doll and a golliwog are there
But most of all I love my teddy bear
He sits with me for dinner and tea
He always goes to bed with me
We’re not afraid of the dark of the night
Because we cuddle together as tight as tight’
As a child bouncing on her knee
My granny used to say this poem to me
But who wrote it, I don’t know
If anyone can tell me, please do so
I can say thank you for a memory sweet
Dreams from my childhood, 'Anon' just isn’t complete.
